OUR ETHOS
We strongly believe that positive associations with exercise from childhood will help to build a healthy relationship with exercise into adulthood. We aim to show our members that exercise isn’t a tool just for achieving a certain body type, but more importantly, a way to keep our minds happy and healthy too! We exercise because it’s fun, and makes us feel great! We also champion the fact food is fuel, so if we want to get strong and progress, we need to make sure we’re putting enough food into our bodies!
We vividly remember the days in primary school when the skipping rope people would come demo, and we’d all march into the hall for half an hour to skip. Those were the days, and we want to create those memories too, but with even more excitement!
OUR OFFERING
We offer circus taster days to schools in our local area. These can be tailored to the needs and size of your school HALL (WE CANNOT OPERATE OUTSIDE), but standard planning involves us bringing 2 child sized aerial hoops, 2 aerial hammocks, 2 poles and multiple other pieces of ground based equipment (beams, cones, ribbons etc) to create a circuit. All aerial equipment is free standing and rigged by Natalie, who is also certified and insured for this role. All aerial equipment is tested, adheres to all industry recommended standards and has a crash mat underneath for additional peace of mind!
These sessions are led by Natalie and 2 other staff members (one manning each aerial station to help maintain control with even the most excitable groups). We are all certified, insured, experienced and have recent DBS checks, AND HAVE risk assessments FOR THE ACTIVITIES / PEER GROUPS that can also be made available to you prior to booking.
As mentioned above, our days are tailored individually but as standard we offer 25 - 30 minute sessions from Nursery - Year 6 starting from 9 - 9.30am and up until 2.30pm approx. We are also available to visit secondary schools but please get in touch to discuss this alternate offering.
We would recommend a maximum of 34 per class size. There is no minimum. The less children per group, the more time they will get on each piece of equipment! All are very welcome to join in the standard sessions, or we can include a quieter, less structured offering for groups who may suit that style better.
Sessions involve a group mini warm up, an explanation of the circuit and then time for the group to travel around the room. Depending on the age and number of children, they can complete 2-3 circuits.
THE COST
We require up to 2 hours prior to set up the HALL. This can be any time from 7am, meaning our earliest start time would be 9am. It takes up to an hour to pack up after. We also may request to set up the day before, but we are aware that's not always possible.
We also need every child involved to complete an online PARQ document. This will be sent to your school email to be forwarded onto parents. We will then send a completed list closer to the visit date so that any missing forms can be chased without THE SCHOOL giving us any registers / personal details of pupils. Anyone without a completed PARQ document will not be allowed to participate.
We are able to travel anywhere in a 30minute radius from our studio, which is located on Claro Road in Harrogate (HG14BA). We always need an indoor set up due to the Great British weather so please bear this in mind as we would need the hall space exclusively all day. Equipment wouldn’t be removable at lunch time.
VISITS ARE CHARGED AT £150 PER DAY (REGARDLESS OF START OR FINISH TIMES). THIS FEE DOESN’T COVER OUR TOTAL COSTS, BUT IT ENABLES US TO COVER THE TRAVEL COSTS AND EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE.
We try to limit ourselves to one visit per month due to the disruption caused to our own studio so spaces are very limited. To book for this or the next academic year, please send us an email and we can discuss your preferred dates. We can also arrange a site visit to check access and the dimensions of your school hall. We would also ask the time we could access the site, what time you have lunch and the class groups so we can send you a proposed schedule and further details.
If you would like a better idea of what the children might get up to or any more details about us and our background, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. We would love to hear from you!
