YOUR QUESTIONS,

ANSWERED!

  • pole :

For pole fitness, Wear anything you feel COMFORTABLE in. As we use the skin to grip to the poles, we ask you wear shorts – the shorter the better, but if that’s a little out of your comfort zone initially, feel free to wear leggings / joggers instead. We dance barefoot so no shoes required (unless you want to wear heels, then come play in our heels classes!)

    hoop / hammock :

For hoop and hammock, Wear leggings or other tighter fitting joggers. Avoid bare legs or shorts as the hoops and hammocks are not all that forgiving on naked skin! A vest top or t-shirt that isn’t too baggy is fine on top.

    children:

IF IT’S A ONE OFF LIKE A BIRTHDAY PARTY OR TRIAL, WEAR WHAT EVER TAKES YOUR FANCY! WE CAN ADAPT. IDEALLY, THEY WOULD WEAR THE SAME AS THE ADULTS AERIAL - LEGGINGS OR JOGGERS AND A TSHIRT, BUT WE’RE NOT OFFENDED BY SCHOOL UNIFORM EITHER! WE’RE ALSO BAREFOOT OR WITH GRIPPY SOCKS.

  • POLE :

Avoid moisturisers, fake tans, lotions and potions on the day of your pole classes as they will make you and the pole very slippery and make the class even harder!

    POLE / AERIAL :

Please remove any rings, watches and jewellery as they may scratch the poles or tear the hammocks.

    HOOP / HAMMOCK :

Avoid wearing leggings with zips or metal work as these may snag the hammock fabric or cause discomfort on the hoop.

    CHILDREN :

WE WOULD ADVISE AGAINST SHORTS OR LEOTARDS UNLESS PAIRED WITH LEGGINGS AS BARE LEG SKIN ISN’T MUCH FUN AND WILL CAUSE DISCOMFORT ON THE EQUIPMENT. THE ONLY SOCKS PERMITTED ARE THOSE WITH GRIPPERS ON THE BOTTOM.

  • A DRINK AND A SMILE! WE SELL BOTTLED DRINKS IF YOU FORGET TOO. YOU CAN BRING ALONG A SMALL TOWEL IF YOU WANTED BUT WE DO PROVIDE THESE. YOU MAY ALSO FIND GRIP AIDS USEFUL IN YOUR JOURNEY, ESPECIALLY ON THE POLE, BUT THEY’RE NOT A REQUIREMENT AND YOU CAN PURCHASE PRODUCTS THAT HELP YOU THROUGH US AT A LATER DATE SHOULD YOU NEED THEM.

  • Adults :

a regular ADULT class is between 2-10 people of a similar ability. We begin with an aerobic warm up to get the blood pumping, followed by a little conditioning and dynamic stretching. We then get onto the equipment for the majority of the class, learning spins, tricks, transitions and maybe linking them all together. We finish with a gentle cool down stretch.

    children :

OUR CHILDRENS CLASSES FOLLOW THEIR OWN INDIVIDUAL PLANS - CHECK THOSE IN DETAIL ON OUR CHILDRENS CLASS PAGE HERE OR BY WATCHING OUR SOCIAL STORIES HERE.

  • We sell this part so well - NOT. Here’s the honest truth!

    pole :

After Nat’s first pole class, she genuinely thought she’d been hit by a truck! She ached everywhere, had bruises in rather personal places and deeply understood the term – pole burn. However, the bit that ached most was her face from smiling so hard! The aches wear off within the first month or so, and can be aided massively by getting moving the day after class (we swear by hoovering being a full body workout). Getting bruises from pole is common, but again reduces with time. Be prepared for funny looks aND expect to become oddly proud of your new found ‘pole kisses’!

    hoop :

Aerial hoop differs from pole in that your skin isn’t exposed as much to the hoop and so the ‘discomfort’ is completely different. There may be a few interesting knee bruises to begin… Certain moves are a bit sore the first time you encounter them but it’s easy to get over when you see the photos of how awesome you look doing it!

    hammock :

Aerial hammock can feel quite tight and restrictive at first, but again, you very quickly adapt to it once you’re distracted trying to remember what your instructor just said to do.

so the honest answer is yes - they all hurt a bit to start with, but much less painful than walking into a gym and standing on a treadmill for the longest 5 minutes of your existence…

  • this always makes me laugh. it’s kind of like saying ‘i’m too dirty for a bath’, that’s the whole point of coming! we can help you achieve your strength and flexibility goals. we have endless patience and belief in you, so as long as you’re willing to give yourself time and grace then were all set!

  • NO! YOU’RE PERFECT – now get to class! Don’t tell yourself you’ll get thinner / stronger / flexier and THEN join a class as that’s the whole point – you can achieve all of that WITH US in a FUN way! Just remember everyone struggles with something about themselves and usually are too conscious of their own insecurities to be looking at anyone else. Give it a few weeks and no one cares about what they look like, they’re far too deep in thought trying to perfect a move and not land on their bum!

our adult regulars vary in age massively, from 18 - 70’s! the highest percentage of our members are in their late 30’s, 40’s & 50’s. our oldest instructor Kate is in fact in her 90’s and still doing the splits (absolutely a lie about her age - please do tell her if you read this as i requested she proof read the website prior to launch and i’m mentally a child).

  • We might be worried if you weren’t! Everyone was a beginner once and within 10 minutes you’ll be too busy sweating and laughing to remember your fears. Classes are hugely welcoming so just get yourself through the door and we will do the rest to help you relax. if you feel more comfortable attending with a friend, just remember it’s your journey! Those who start alone are actually much more likely to be consistent and succeed as their commitment isn’t tied to someone else.
